Rehearsals

We rehearse every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 in the Song School of St Mary's Cathedral, Palmerston Place, surrounded by the murals painted by Phoebe Traquair between 1888 and 1892.

We occasionally have 'away-days' when we might rehearse for forthcoming concerts in more relaxed mode, learn and sing other music just for fun, have voice coaching and generally get to know one another better as a group.

We have been to Melrose twice in succession, in 2002 and 2003, one occasion ending with a rendition of "Weep O mine eyes" by John Bennet (1570-1610) accompanied by the Squair Mile Consort of Viols and, in 2003, with professional singer and coach Carmel Carroll teaching us vocal technique.

We constantly strive to improve and develop as a group and our training and development days are an important part of our itinerary.  Plans for our 2008 season include a concert featuring Haydn's 'Maria Teresa' Mass and Handel's 'Zadok' on Saturday, 7th June in St Mary's Cathedral.
